Taapsee Pannu turns 30 today and we at BollywoodLife decided to take her down the memory lane by quizzing her with 30 questions about her life, love, family, friends and more. Trust me, Taapsee has never been this candid before. The birthday girl, who has just returned from Mauritius after wrapping up the shoot of Judwaa 2, will be spending her day with her family as she said, “I ll definitely not be working on my birthday. I am going to go back home to Delhi to my parents and just spend it there. Usually my birthdays are very quiet. They are not like party heavy. I either spend my birthday with friends and family at home or with them outside the country where I am just doing nothing, relaxing on the beach. This year max I will do is take my family out for lunch or dinner. Usually I prefer to spend it lazy to calm myself down and introspect how my next year is going to be and how I am going to see things from here.” Also read: Exclusive! And here we begin with the fun “Birthday Rapid Fire”….
Your birthday resolution?
I try to keep birthday resolution instead of New Year resolution and follow them for longer and stronger. This year I haven’t thought about it as much. Probably one day I will sit and decide.
What is your best birthday memory?
In school when you dress up differently, out of the uniform wearing some casuals and then everyone is flocking around you because you are just dressed up in fancy clothes. Also I used to love when everyone would stand up and sing Happy Birthday for you.
Your favourite cake?
There is nothing like favourite cake for me. All cakes are favourite. Like I am not very fond of cheesecake or mousse cake but other than that I love all cakes, especially the bread part of it.
Craziest fan story on your birthday?
I think the fact that they remember the date of a person who is not really a part of their life in real is so special. Especially the way how they take so much efforts to send you gifts and handwritten letters. I get really overwhelmed reading those letters on my birthdays.
If a movie was made out of your life, what genre would it be and who would play you?
I think the closest genre would be comedy because I am very goofy, clumsy that way. I talk before I think and I have a very nasty sarcastic kind of sense of humour. And the one who can duplicate me the best is my sister because she is equally funny. In fact a little more than what I am.
What is the first thing you do when you wake up every morning?
I love staring at the horizon from my window
The last thought that you have every night before going to sleep?
What time do I need to wake up tomorrow
What is the first thing you notice about someone when you meet them?
The way they talk! I notice the accent and see if it’s fake or they normally talk like that. Eventually, it all begins with a conversation and for me a grooming of a person is very important.
Describe the perfect kiss in 3 words
Spontaneous, short and sweet! Sweet in terms of the smell and taste (laughs)
Is there any song that reminds you of a relationship?
It depends on the mood actually! But ya if you ask one song that instantly triggers that romantic vibe then it has to be Thousand Words from Twilight!
Are you single?
Any secret you would want to tell me?
Whatever I have told is you all that I can tell you. I want to keep some secrets to myself so that I can laugh on them alone. Like they are just mine and nobody else gets to know about it!
When was the last time you were pressurized for marriage?
Never!!! My parents have never asked me till date that when am I going to get married.
Whose advice do you listen to the most?
I have learnt this one thing from my dad – Suno sabki, Karo apni. So I listen to everyone but I do only what I want to do.
If you had to choose your nickname what would it be?
People just call me drama queen. But if I had a call, I would want something filmy and dramatic. Like maybe something like Chingari
What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten?
Oh! During one of my Europe trips, I ate grasshoppers and snails. I literally fried them had
If you could talk in your sleep, what would you say?
(laughs) Oh people in my family say that the only time I don’t talk is when I am sleeping and when I am eating. So they definitely wouldn’t want me to talk when I am sleeping.
What is the most interesting thing you have in your wallet?
Okay don’t laugh when I say this but what’s very precious to me when I am travelling is the iPhone pin that you use to change the sim. I mean, I have to keep switching between two sims so that’s a must in my wallet.
Your favourite dialogue from a movie?
I think the one that we use in a very cliched way – Bade Bade Desho Mein Aisi Choti Choti Baatein Hoti Rehti Hai. I think that line in itself easily helps you get over things ki chalo Chalta hai yaar, let’s move on!
What is your biggest addiction?
Travelling! I can’t stay in one place for long
How old were you when you had the weirdest haircut ever?
I was in 12th and I always had this fascination to cut my hair because I am a Sardarni so I never got to cut my hair. I would play this whole drama in school saying chewing gum is stuck in my hair and stuff like that and get a haircut. In 12th I remember it was my very important day. I was a part of the head girl batch. But just a day before the ceremony, I cut my hair so short that it didn’t even fit in my pony. And on top of that I had curly hair so I looked like a lion king during my head girl ceremony. Oh it was so embarrasing…one of the most embarrasing moments of my life
If you could teleport right now, where would you go?
To some other planet. I mean, I want to meet people from other planet and see how they behave. I know it’s kinda weird but then I can travel across the world any time, flying to a different planet would mean something!
What is the last thing you liked on social media?
Just before this call, I liked a GIF of two girls kicking and fighting in the car. I tagged my sister in it because we are kinda the same like that!
Are you a dog or a cat person?
I am not a pet person because I had a pet when I was a kid and it died at an early age. So I felt really bad and decided to never have a pet again.
What do you like the most about your family?
I think the fact that everyone is so peculiarly different from each other. Like none of us have similar characteristics. My dad is super organised while my mom is so calm and my sister is extremely funny. But in all, we are just people with all heart.
One food you would never want to give up?
Chole Bhature or cakes! Actually if you ask me to pick one then cakes!
If you were to be any flavour of an ice cream them which one would you be and why?
Tooty-Frooty because its colourful and a mixture of too many things, just like me.
Which was the last film you watched?
Mubarakan! It was fun, I laughed!
If you won a million dollars, what would you buy?
I would buy a time machine because I really hate wasting time in the traveling journey to reach your destination.
Four things you would want to change about yourself?
Okay, I think I need to learn a little more patience because I am very hyperactive that way. Secondly, I don’t have tolerance level towards inefficiency or incompetency. I get really mad at people who don’t do their jobs right so I need to be a little more tolerant. Thirdly, I need to stop trusting people at the bottom of my hat.like I am very gullable. And the fourth is that I am over critical of myself so I feel I need to be a little nicer to myself.
BollywoodLife wishes you a very happy birthday Taapsee!
